Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Cyber Security Intern to join our Information Security team. This internship offers a hands-on experience in various aspects of cyber security, allowing you to apply your academic knowledge in a real-world setting while learning from industry professionals.Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in Security Audits: Support the team in conducting security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing of systems, applications, and networks.
  • Incident Response: Participate in monitoring and responding to security incidents, assisting in forensic analysis, and contributing to the development of mitigation strategies.
  • Security Awareness: Help in the creation and dissemination of security awareness materials for employees, including newsletters, emails, and training sessions.
  • Research and Development: Stay updated with the latest cyber security trends, threats, and technologies. Conduct research on emerging threats and assist in the development of new security protocols and tools.
  • Documentation: Maintain and update security policies, procedures, and technical documentation. Assist in preparing reports on security incidents and audit findings.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT and other departments to implement security measures, ensure compliance with security policies, and support ongoing projects.

Cybersecurity Intern Job Requirements

1. Education:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Relevant coursework in network security, cryptography, risk management, or similar areas is preferred.
2. Technical Skills:
  • Basic understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and encryption techniques.
  • Familiarity with operating systems like Windows, Linux, and Unix.
  • Knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity tools like Wireshark, Metasploit, or Nmap is a plus.
3. Analytical Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on identifying potential vulnerabilities or threats.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to detect anomalies.
4. Communication Skills:
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to document findings and explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
5. Soft Skills:
  • A strong desire to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive approach to work.
  • Ethical mindset with a strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
6. Certifications (Optional but Preferred):
  • CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or similar introductory certifications.
7. Experience:
  • Prior internship or project experience in cybersecurity is a plus but not required.
  • Participation in cybersecurity competitions, hackathons, or relevant online courses.
